During the week of March 4, Cummins is launching Published Troubleshooting Standardization which will reinvent the way troubleshooting
content is utilized across applications like QuickServe Online (QSOL), Guidanz, Fault Code Analyzer (FCA) and Expert Diagnostic
System (EDS).
What is changing?
The content supporting our Troubleshooting documents will be undergoing creation and format changes. These changes were critical
to standardize the information currently available in multiple application. Instead of seeing different content in QSOL, EDS,
Guidanz and FIS, you will see common content across all. Now, engineering will create content in a single application and
use controlled text phrases versus free text fields. This drives uniformity in the content across platforms and significantly
reduces translation costs and time.
The front cover of the Troubleshooting manual and the Fault Code Overview will remain unchanged. The Troubleshooting Summary,
Troubleshooting Details and Symptom Trees associated with a Fault Code will be changing to the new format. Also, fault code
and symptoms will now be combined into the same document for easier accessibility to the content.
See screenshots here for samples of the changes.
